Advantages of Elastizell JLE
Lightweight Insulating Concrete Roof Decks

  • Strong, permanent, economical, and lasts for the life of the building
  • Positive slope-to-drain eliminates drainage problems and standing water
  • Closed Cell nature results in relatively impermeable concrete deck
  • Improved thermal insulation values when combined with Zell-Board EPS insulation board
  • Eliminates roof insulation tear-offs and related disposal to landfill
  • Improved fire resistance, non-combustible
  • Tested seismic values

Cellular Systems

  • 100% Portland Cement and Elastizell preformed foam
  • Elastizell requires only one quarter the water of expanded aggregate insulating concretes
  • Obtains it’s workability from discrete air cells
  • Zell-Crete Fiber is added for improved tensile strength roof deck
  • Positive drainage achieved by combining stair-stepped Zell-Board EPS insulation and on-site custom sloping of Elastizell's relatively impervious concrete to the roof drain
  • Zell-Board EPS Insulation embedded in concrete for protected, permanent R-value
  • For use with adhered roof membrane base plies or with mechanically attached base sheets

Hybrid Systems

  • Combine Elastizell JLE closed cell lightweight concrete and expanded aggregate concrete
  • Expanded aggregate additive (vermiculite) retains enough water to improve hydration of the insulating concrete mixture and acts as a rheological modifier for sloped applications
  • Zell-Crete Fiber is added for improved tensile strength roof deck
  • Positive drainage achieved by combining stair-stepped Zell-Board EPS insulation and on-site custom sloping of Elastizell's relatively impervious concrete to the roof drain
  • Zell-Board EPS Insulation embedded in concrete for protected, permanent R-value
  • For use with mechanically attached vented base sheets
